Your carbon footprint calculator in Geneva

This carbon footprint simulator allows you to calculate your environmental impact by major category (transport, food, housing, etc.) and obtain personalized recommendations to take action at your level.

The Geneva version of this tool is based on the simulator developed by ADEME and beta.gouv.fr, adapted to the local reality of Geneva. The emission factors and content have been adjusted to reflect the specific characteristics of the region.

This calculator is the result of a collaboration between the State of Geneva, the City of Geneva, and 2050Today.

Why calculate your individual carbon footprint?

Global warming is mainly caused by human activities. Every good or service we consume, from its manufacture to its end of life, requires materials, energy, and emits greenhouse gases. Some activities have a high impact, others very low, but all contribute to our environmental footprint.

To assess your individual contribution to climate change, it is useful to calculate your consumption carbon footprint, also known as your individual carbon footprint. This gives you a better understanding of your impact and helps you identify ways to reduce it.

Low-carbon lifestyle

Reduce your environmental impact today

Knowing your impact is good. Knowing how to reduce it is better. In 10 to 20 minutes, the test provides you with a personalized assessment, followed by an ACTION section with concrete, personalized actions.

The collective goal is to stay below 2 tons of CO2e emissions per person. This may seem ambitious, but the path to a more carbon-neutral life involves the whole of society: the government, local authorities, businesses, and each and every one of us.
