What is the carbon footprint calculator?

This calculator allows you to assess your carbon footprint by major category (food, transport, housing, miscellaneous, social services) and to compare it with the canton's climate targets, which aim to reduce emissions by 60% by 2030. This tool also allows you to take action at your own level, with personalised suggestions based on your answers.

Who is developing it?

The carbon calculator is being developed in France by the Agence de la transition écologique (ADEME) and beta.gouv.fr, in partnership with the Association Bilan Carbone (ABC).

The Geneva version of the calculator you are using here is based on the tool developed by ADEME and beta.gouv.fr. The emissions factors as well as the content and references have been adjusted to enable a calculation that is as close as possible to Geneva's reality. This version, specially configured for Geneva, is the result of collaboration between the State of Geneva, the City of Geneva and 2050Today.
