An online test to assess your impact on the climate
Your individual **carbon **footprint estimates the amount of greenhouse gases you emit each year through your consumption habits, travel, diet, and the energy you use at home.
Using an interactive form, you can now calculate this footprint very easily. In just a few clicks, you will obtain a personalized and visual estimate of your annual carbon footprint, expressed in kilograms or tons of CO₂ equivalent.
Start the test – a simple method
To begin, simply click on **"Start my test" **at the top right of the site. This button will redirect you to a questionnaire that helps you quantify your emissions, item by item:
- Transportation: annual distance traveled by car, train, plane, etc.
- Housing: type of accommodation, heating method, number of people, etc.
- Consumption: purchases, digital devices, clothing, furniture, etc.
- Food: frequency of meat consumption, local or organic products, etc.
- Waste and recycling: amount of waste generated, sorting, composting, etc.
The questionnaire takes an average of** 10 to 15 minutes **to complete and does not require registration.
Methodology and calculation sources
The calculations are based on data from Swiss and Geneva databases, including:
- **Data from **official **bodies **(ADEME, OFEV, etc.)
- Complete **life cycle analyses **of products and services
- Local adaptation taking into account Geneva's energy mix
Each response is automatically converted into the amount of greenhouse gases emitted. For example, driving 10,000 km emits much more than consuming 10 kg of vegetables per year.
How to interpret the results?
At the end of the test, you will obtain:

- A comparison with the Swiss/Geneva average
In Geneva, the average footprint for 2022 is 12.7 tons per year. The goal, in order to meet national and cantonal climate commitments, is less than 2 tons per capita.
